Why go?
One of Spain’s most iconic outdoor experiences: a safe but thrilling boardwalk clinging to the walls of the Gaitanes Gorge.
What will you see? Canyons, valley bridges, reservoirs, and – at the end – the famous suspension bridge
Distance & driving time:~65–75 km | 1–1 hr 15 min (via Ardales/El Chorro)
Best time to visit Spring–autumn; in summer choose an early time slot due to the heat. The trail may close in strong winds.

Tips from our own experience:
- A guided group tour is highly recommended; in this case parking is available at El Chorro train station (free). The tour starts at the hotel in front of the station, and a bus takes you to the trailhead (approx. 15 minutes). The route is one-way (north → south) and takes approximately 3 hours.
- If visiting independently, you can use the official shuttle bus between the trail’s start and end points.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes; bring water and sun protection. There is no shade along the trail.
